Earth Sciences

We live on a restless planet. Earth is continually influenced by powerful processes such as the shifting of tectonic plates, the evolution of hurricanes, coastal erosion, volcanic eruptions, and the migration of pollutants. UW scientists and engineers have been at the forefront of these issues for decades. Their efforts to better understand the dynamics of the Earth have been critical to developing an integrated view of the planet.

Explore the following for examples of our work.
